Setting up UPrecise on wine for the first time

Post by TOP »

I am trying to setup Unicore's UPrecise on Ubuntu 20.04 for the first time.
This software is for controlling various GPS receivers over the USB and serial ports.
As such both USB and serial need to be mapped to com ports for this windows app.
In addition, the graphical interface seems to be misbehaving.
Currently I have the app installed in .wine-UPrecise in a 64 bit folder and WINEARCH='win64' is set.
The user interface is not diplaying the com ports in the drop down lists where it should be.
Parts of the software do work as evidenced by some strings displaying from the GPS board being configured.

Any thoughts on how to proceed would be appreciated.

While I can get Uprecise to get data from the COM ports, it does not do so reliably and they do not show up in the option lists.
