Hello,
I'm trying to get Empire of Magic (2003) to run properly and I get this visual glitch:
Everything appears as expected in e.g. this screen though:
This issue seems to be similar to https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=43269, and this viewtopic.php?t=24243 is a related topic.
I'm running the game on wine-3.20 32-bit installation via PlayOnLinux.
Because of hardware issues I am stuck with an older version of Linux Mint (18.3) which comes with wine-1.6.2.
wine-3.20 is the most recent version provided by PlayOnLinux on my system.
Does anyone know if such graphical issues were resolved in newer versions of wine?
Is there a quick fix I could try maybe?
Thanks in advance!

Re: Text white background instead of transparent
Update:
Built wine-4.0.4, wine-5.0.5, wine-6.0.4, wine-7.0.2 stable releases, as well as wine-8.21 from source and installed/ran the game on separate wineprefixes.
Issue with white background went away in the tutorial (first two screenshots in the original post; last one here).
However, it persists in other screens, which I find quite baffling. See attached screenshots.
In any case, I don't know if this is the right place to report/discuss such things. Maybe I should file a bug report since the same problem seems to show up from time to time. Is anyone else affected by a similar issue at the moment?
Any directions would be appreciated!
