HELP: "This Application requires Windows Version 22H2 or higher"

Post by JohnTamale »

Background:

Bought some software a few ago. Then decided to ditch Windows as I hate Windows 11.
I settled with Nobara ( A fedora gaming spin).
Now I wanted to install this application, but the installer complains it needs version 22H2 or either Windows 10 64 bit or Windows 11.

Any suggestions?

Is there a way to emulate 22h2?

Or should I just throw the towel and use a VM?

you can set the following Windows versions in wine

Code: Select all

$ winecfg /?

Usage: winecfg [options]

Options:
[no option] Launch the graphical version of this program.
/v Display the current global Windows version.
/v version Set global Windows version to 'version'.
/? Display this information and exit.

Valid versions for 'version':

Yes, but that is only for the full fledged versions. Aka "Windows 10" "Windows 11"and so on.
There is no "Windows 10 22H2". If I remember correctly. Wine uses kind of outdated versions for each Windows element.

Just a thought, but...
Have you tried W11? It would definitely include any updates applied to W10-22H2.

Sadly did not work.
It seems it requires Win 11 22:H2 as well when moving to Win11.

I tried even using the technique of editing the registry to match the Win 11 version I wanted.
The app ran, but it crashed.
So it definitively needs some special DLL.

Still.. I somehow managed to get it running on WINE using the latest staging and with the modification. Albeit bugs up from time to time.
