Adding OpenXR/VR support to Wine prefix?

Post by DocMAX »

I see Proton has support for OpenXR/VR build in.
Is it possible to add this to the "regular" Wine, too?
Same way like adding DXVK and VKD3D to the prefix?

Yes, it's possible to add OpenXR/VR support to a regular Wine prefix, but it requires some manual setup. Proton has built-in support for OpenXR, but for Wine, you'll need to use additional tools like wine-openxr or manually configure OpenXR along with other components like DXVK and VKD3D.

You can try installing OpenXR libraries into your Wine prefix and adjust the configuration to ensure VR support. However, it might not be as seamless as Proton since it’s not officially supported in Wine yet, and some tweaking might be needed.
