Try if you can find it the AR 7.0 client (it will work with your 5.1.2 server) and Wine 1.0I installed Remedy a few weeks ago 5.01.02 patch 1313 because that is what my work provided. worked great for a little bit (openSUSE 10.3 64 bit then now has a heart attack and dies when I try to open a ticket click open new from AR control pannel

Thanks I think my company has the 6.0 client (not sure) what they offered me was 6.0 or what the helpdesk uses and I chose what the helpdesk uses. Don't know remedy that well just had to use the heldpesk portion for 3 years now I use other forms but not very many. As for wine 1.0 I have tried to upgrade but for some reason I upgrade the repositories and it does not offere me winedoors or anything newer than 0.944. I am using the 64 bit version of openSUSE 10.3. Was working fine I think a blamed openSUSE update blew it up. How can I upgrade wine at least and then try that first.
Have you added the Wine repository to YaST? I use openSUSE 10.3, and the latest packages are there.dhonnoll wrote:As for wine 1.0 I have tried to upgrade but for some reason I upgrade the repositories and it does not offere me winedoors or anything newer than 0.944. I am running openSUSE 10.3 64 bit. I updated my repositories, and was able to update to wine 1.17. I tried both Remedy 5.01.02 patch 1313 and Remedy 6.3. That was the only ones the guys in the windows group could give me. Both versions before and after wine upgrade same thing. It seems when I try to open a ticket within another already open window that is when it fials. Only diffrence with wine 1.17 is now it takes longer for the application to die. Do I need to run a winecfg first? Do I need to set wine up to emulate a distro other than Windows XP?
Found out more bug details and figured out a work around. If I open the control pannel, and full screen it (whether the whole app be full screen or just full screen within the app if that makes any sence or not) At that point, if I open a new windows ticket, whatever, it bombs out. As long as I don't click the double box (to extend to full screen) then try to open something else up (new ticket/existing ticket) it works fine. Ticket screen still looks like crap but I think that is my work place and something they have done to it.
If you haven't tried running it in a virtual desktop, try that. Some apps work better that way.dhonnoll wrote:Found out more bug details and figured out a work around. I don't recall mentioning VMware or any other virtualization app.dhonnoll wrote:Thanks and I have used VM ware before. But I have no desire to conseed to bill gates and buy or pirate his software. An MS emulator is fine for now. As long as I don't have to use active sync. thank you though.
I was talking about Wine's "emulate a virtual desktop" option. You'll find it in winecfg on the the Graphics tab.
I tried that and it did not work. Its when you full screen something and you want to open something else, like an existing report within something like say the control pannel that is already expanded. as long as I don't expand it, it works. Which is kind of stupid but it is a workaround I can live with for now. Thanks for the suggestion.
