Well after weeks of utter frustration, with virtualbox stopping working for no reason, being unable to go back to dual boot as linux apps cant make a win10 install USB correctly and much more stressful things. I randomly stumbled on a github that had an install script claiming to make the only program I still needed windows for to work, that program being Ableton Live DAW.
However, despite authorizing the program (not a pirate I own it properly) the program doesn't seem able to communicate with the internet. Meaning it can't install any of the extra resource packs from the ableton website. Also after closing it and reopening... it wants me to authorize it again... did it just forget what happened the first time?
the github for it is: Windows-On-Linux/Ableton-On-Linux
Sorry if this post seems amateur, i dont know much about linux and no pretty much nothing about how wine actually works.
EDIT2: Another problem seems to have emerged... first time round (when initially authorized before closing) the sound was correctly playing from my headphones, but now when launching the program, it is playing sound out of my MONITOR speakers... The inside-program options for changing the sound output device have no effect, so how might I address this? Wine is not shown in PAVControl panel
So the questions are (updated):
1) - How to make the program able to connect to the internet directly.
2) - How to change the sound output to be correct.
Possible to allow wine-running apps to access the internet?
