I'm trying to get Links 2003 working under Wine. Links is a Golf game/sim.
System: Acer Gen 7 i5 Notebook
Graphics: Intel 620
Wine: 9.18
Linux: Mint 21.3
I have Linux installed on 2 systems and see the same basic problem.
I will be playing a round of golf and the game will crash. Some courses seem to crash consistently although not in the same place in the game, some courses do not seem to crash at all.
The most recent crash is on an Acer Notebook as indicated above, it also has a Nvidia 940mx and I have seen the same sort of crashes with the Nvidia GPU enabled, but not necessarily on the same courses. I also have a Gen 3 desktop with a GeForce GT640 HBA and it sees the same sort of crashes.
The details from the crash screen are:
App Name: linksmmiii.exe Appver: 22.10.2.41
Mod Name: linksmmiii.exe Modver: 22.10.2.41
Offset: 0029defc
I was able to get a log and it is attached, the end of the log reflects the above. I took the liberty of removing a lot of duplicate entries, I left an example of what they are in the file (I was a bit surprised that this board does not seem to allow for the upload of text files so created a zip file) .
Links is installed in a 64 bit wineprefix on its own, the only other component installed is wmp9 which seems to be a Links requiremnet and was installed using Winetricks. I have wine 9.18 installed as indicated but have seen the same sort of crashes on Wine 9.0, 9.17.
I have no idea of what other information is needed, how to collect it or where it should be provided to.

Re: Links 2003
At least I am seeing consistency.
On every course that is crashing it is exactly the same crash, suggesting that each is hitting the same problem.
It appears to be on courses that have a degree of reflective water in play, i.e. water that would be showing reflections of the surrounds, like trees around a lake, I suspect that it is significant that such courses that show water before a crash are showing it at least in part as a solid light blue colour rather than as reflecting the surrounds.
Apologies I did make a mistake in the offset it should read
Offset: 0069defc
