Irfanview can't see shared network folders

Post by raphael75 »

I have Kubuntu 24.04 and Irfanview 4.59 64-bit. I have a shared folder on a Windows computer on my local network mount in the /mnt folder. All my Linux-native programs and most other WINE programs (Notepad++, etc.) have no problem accessing the files and directories on this shared folder. However, in Irfanview and Irfanview Thumbnails, the /mnt folder shows up as empty. Is there something special I need to do to get it to see the contents of the shared folder? Thanks.

Update: I had installed Irfanview through the Snap Store. In the Snap Store it is labelled "Irfanview (WINE)". As a test, I tried uninstalling the Snap version and then installing the .exe from the Irfanview site straight through WINE, and it can see the shared directories with no issue.
