Hi, I recently upgraded to Ubuntu 24.04 from 22.04. Wine previously worked well with several legacy programs that originally ran in Win7. Following the upgrade, none worked. So I upgraded Wine to version 9.0 and now most of the Win7 progs work but one, 'Ztree' does not. I have tried right-clicking the .exe file and choosing 'Open with...' but Wine is not there or findable in the options.
Ztree was always the 'odd one out' as the other programs I used Wine for (CorelDraw, Lotus Approach and Pegasus Mail) all had their own icons in the Ubuntu software list (they still do). For Ztree however, I had to locate the .exe file and double-click it. This no longer works. Previously also the Ztree .exe file was a blue icon whereas it is now the default 'unknown file' Ubuntu icon.
Please advise - but keep it simple because I only have a minimal grasp of how Wine works!

SOLVED: For info, I have now resolved this issue following further correspondence on the thread viewtopic.php?t=39489
As part of my efforts to resolve this issue, in the last few days I had tried updating wine to the latest version.
This update went without problems but it did not change anything. The problem with some Win 7 progs remained.
Today, I also reinstalled one of the offending progs. This still did not fix anything either.
Finally, in some desperation, I reinstalled Wine over the top of the existing version.
Somehow this has fixed things and everything now works - and some new icons!
So, a mere update to wine the other day was not sufficient but a reinstall was.
Hope this helps someone else.
