sony camera alfa 6100 imaging edge webcam

Hi,

My linux flavor is Ubuntu 20.04.6 LTS. I have installed winehq-stable and winehq-devel. Wine --version is 8.10. I would like install sony "imaging edge webcam" software (IEW112_2206a.exe 64bit) but the installation begine ok but the install wizard end prematuraly.

I don't know the interpretation of theses message but is posible that its need install some DLL lib libraries before run the installation process. Some idea?

The installer fails to create a shortcut and therefore returns an error. This looks like bug 44926.
It is possible to modify the installer in such a way that the shortcuts will not be created.
As a result, the installation of the program is successful, but unfortunately the program itself still does not work.

Even after installing the Microsoft .Net Framework, I get a message that the service cannot be started.

Cannot start service from the command line or a debugger.
A windows service must be installed using installutil.exe
and then started with the Server explorer,
windows services Administrative tools or the NET start command.

What can the program do? Perhaps alternatives can be found?

I would like use the Sony Alpha 6100 Camera in webcam mode connected to pc usb port for live streaming video, capture video signal for recording . I have tried with gphoto2 driver but in the compatibility camera list the 6100 model is not listed, so, I am trying with the IEW112_2206a.exe windows app. With a Virtual Windows 10 installation I got the installation but the performance is not good, it run slow.

Reading gphoto's manual, I expect the camera should work.

Try something like:

- Install ffmpeg
- Install gphoto2 with libgphoto2 2.5.13 or newer
- Install v4l2loopback-dkms

On the Sony alpha camera: change USB connection to "PC Remote"

Enable the v4l2loopback kernel module:
sudo modprobe v4l2loopback exclusive_caps=1 max_buffers=2 video_nr=9

Launch webcam:
gphoto2 --stdout --capture-movie | ffmpeg -i - -vcodec rawvideo -pix_fmt yuv420p -threads 8 -f v4l2 /dev/video9
