installing autocad lt 2002

Post by yonnie »

Can't get past the registration screen. Application seems to lock-up. After inputting my numbers I just get this rather stupid looking white blank box and then rest of application goes into non-response and/or whole computer locks-up. Have set emulator to win2k. Locked up with xp setting too.

Using Lenny.

I'm getting a fatal error, program crashes. Unhandled access violation reading 0x0040 exception at 6ce39eh.

I tried an uninstall. The AutoCad lt 2002 would not uninstall, crashes instead. So I uninstalled wine from Synaptic. Re-start, Wine is still present but not working. Removed from menu's manually. Re-started. Went back into Synaptic and re-installed Wine. Settings from previous install still there? Thought this got removed? Autocad still there, just not working. Did a re-install. Still same issues, locks up or crashes.[/list]

I'd rather have autocad working. I saw one report of autocad working with Wine. Isn't there something that can be done to resolve this?

Start with a clean wine directory, attempt to install and post terminal output.

http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.p ... n&iId=1924 may help

The AppDB test results for AutoCAD 2002 are kind of old, so this may not be true any more, but they mention that it needs native mfc42.dll and msvcirt.dll. Did you try it with these overrides?

There's also a rather long thread about AutoCAD on the forum, though it seems to be mostly about newer versions: http://forum.winehq.org/viewtopic.php?t=1227

jan@alpha-site:~/Desktop$ env WINEPREFIX="/home/jan/.wine" wine "C:\Program Files\AutoCAD LT 2002\aclt.exe"
fixme:msvcrt:_setmaxstdio stub: setting new maximum for number of simultaneously open files not implemented, returning 2048
fixme:font:WineEngCreateFontInstance Untranslated charset 255
fixme:shell:SHAppBarMessage msg=5, data={cb=36, hwnd=0x5f401917, callback=1871ec, edge=1598036226, rc=(2,2)-(1022,766), lparam=967eb8}: stub
fixme:process:GetProcessWorkingSetSize (0xffffffff,0x33f6d4,0x33f6d0): stub
fixme:imm:ImmReleaseContext (0x10090, 0x1366a8): stub

Could not find mfc42.dll but I did find an msvcirt in the wine config. Did not make a difference. This program is an equal opportunity system lock-up and die program. Having to do a hard reset on this machine is making me a little nervous.

That's the program itself, not the installer.

A hard reset indicates a kernel or driver bug. Userspace can't lock up
the kernel.

Yeah, it's right after you try to answer the assinine auth code is when the lock-up/crash happens. The window doesn't close, then everything freezes and system becomes about as useful as a brick. That's when the hard reset has to happen. This setup didn't finish properly, any ideas?
