Hello. I'm using Peppermint 10, I first installed it using Live CD, then went to the Winehq website to install Wine for Ubuntu 18 and runs fine , for example: some emulator runs at 60fps fine. Then when I go to update manager to update things the emulator drops to 50fps and runs slow, other games runs slow. stuttering .
I know this PC is weak, it is integrated Intel 4 but it can runs those games fine , this is a quadcore q8400 6gb of ram.
I dont understand this problem, maybe some package bugged everything, it looks like it throttled the cpu power or something , I already tried other distros like xubuntu, peppermint 11, Linux mint. The difference is the emulator runs slow at first try not when updating like Pepp10.
If I wnat o play this emulator I have to choose not to update nothing on the udpate manager..
Only on this particular "stock" version of Peppermint 10 it runs fine at first. then if I update it goes slow,
I made a test to see something is making this slow thing, i first install wine through terminal, some window ask to say yes or no to isntal sound.pa at first I said yes and the emulator goes slows afterwards , then I installed pepp from zero again and said no and emulator was fine but.. But there is something more that cause the slugishness in the updates i dont know what it is. Because if I try other distros the slow thing happens too.
Sorry for english, im just curious about this. Imma Linux newbie.

What is the "update manager?" Is that a Peppermint/Ubuntu thing? What is it updating? Wine? Applications? If it is causing problems, can you avoid using it?
