roblox not working on wine

I switched to ZorinOS about 6 monthes ago after a long time of managing Linux servers so im reasonably competent at linux related things. Recently switched my little brother over as well and he wanted to play roblox. googled it and seems like most people get it to work through vanilla wine or grapefruit/lutris/playonlinux without doing anything special. Tried doing that downloaded the .exe ran it the roblox thing popped up updated then vanished like normal but if i goto the website and click play nothing happens. Im guessing this has something to do with the roblox api not finding the app on his computer because its running in wine but i dont know why it works for everyone else. Originally tried it through zorins default "run windows programs" thingy which appears to be wine 5.0 but also tried a clean wipe then reinstall of wine 7.0 and still nothing. any help would appreciated.
