I would install the dlls from trusted microsoft redistributable
installers instead using winetricks

http://wiki.winehq.org/winetricks

Check the appdb page to see what is needed:

Not sure of these.
Microsoft.VC80.CRT.manifest, msvcm80.dll, msvcp80.dll and msvcr80.dll
These are vcrun2005 or possibly vcrun2005sp1

From a Windows machine would be safest, assuming you have a license.
Microsoft.VC80.CRT.manifest, msvcm80.dll, msvcp80.dll and msvcr80.dll
winetricks has these

Its technically not legal to download individual dlls. You can
download and install redistributable packs though but even these ask
you if you have a valid license.

+1 to this. Wine defaults to being Windows XP. Remember to copy the dll to the PROGRAM directory and not Wine's system32 directory. Doing the second may make Wine unusable and force you to recreate the ~/.wine directory and force a re-installation of all of your applications.

[/quote]It's "I have no Windows partition, I am only using Linux."

Now that our spelling/grammar lesson is over:

Get winetricks. Use it. Most of the common dll's are available through its use.

Please be aware that Microsoft may check your system for existance of a LEGAL Windows product.

Please also be aware that if you are in the United States and most, but not all, other countries you may be in legal violation of the End User License Agreement if you install Microsoft products on a system without a purchased and installed Windows system.

That being said, if you decide to install a Microsoft product and Wine no longer works, you may be 'on your own' and have to re-install Wine to get it to work properly.

1. Find a friend with XP installed and look for these dlls.
2. There is NO such thing as a trusted site for downloading dlls on the
Internet excepting (maybe) Microsoft. This is where winetricks gets its
files from. However, you might want to try Google and see what you come
up with. I would definitely backup my system before trying to use any
dlls from any Internet site.
