There is one thing I don't understand on the cockos forum:
There are three different branches of Wine:
-
Wine stable 6.0
This version will only get updates when they are ready and shouldn't break.
So if you have this version installed, then it is not suddenly updated
Use this version if the application works.
-
Wine development 6.x
Every two weeks there will be a new version.
This is where the development of Wine happens.
Try this version if an application doesn't work
-
Wine staging 6.x
This is the "playground" of Wine. Full of patches on top of Wine development to test new things and hacky workarounds.
I read that the program works on stable and not staging. Does the program work on Wine development?
Hi,
first of all, thanks for your interest of this problem....
Wine-staging is the branch of wine
preferred in the Linux-audio world. All use this branch of wine; however, the problems described above appeared in the latest release of wine-staging.
the solution found is to go back to wine-stable: this is 6.0. wine-staging worked until the last or penultimate release.
I don't understand why but with the last wine-staging6.3 all audio plugins are no longer loaded when Reaper starts... I have installed wine-stable 6.0 and all is go back to work.....
it is clear that several plugins are not working now: all the Arturia plugins needed the wine-staging for work:

wine-stable or wine-devel doesn't have the options described here....consequently the Artutia plugins do NOT work anymore...
I hope that the future release of wine-staging solve these problems, (I don't know who to talk to or warn)...
if it serves something useful, I try to install wine-devel and then I inform you.... ok?
