Keystroke capturing in Mint 19.3

Post by searoot »

I got Wine from Mint's software manager (4.0). Everytime I open wine, this input box shows up and capture most of my keystrokes (except for arrow keys, ctrl, alt, z, x, c and the lower key row for some reason) (see attached). That makes it impossible to run any game or program that uses wasd. This is really odd behavior and I'm really not sure where to begin to search for help. I'm new to Wine and Linux in general so please point me where to go if this is already fixed.

Well I figured out what's the problem. I'm using Unikey to type non-english characters and Wine doesn't seem to like it. Switching to another layout (US) fixed it. Wine runs flawlessly now.
