Issue with OpenAL sounds

Post by mar3620 »

I use wine to play a game called Sub Rosa and I'm having sound issues. The game seems to now be able to have that many concurrent sounds playing at once. Iets say im driving a car and the engine noise is playing and when someone fires a gun I cant hear it shoot at all. But when there is no sounds I can hear guns no problems. The game uses OpenAL and has 7 OpenAL sources. Is there anything I can do to up the amount of concurrent sounds. BTW I tried using alsa drivers and the issue is present with both pulse and alsa.

@mar3620

Take a look at the section: WineHQ AppDB : S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Lost Alpha : HowTo / Notes : Audio Quality Fix.

Apologies about the broken characters on that webpage (a previous WineHQ AppDB website software update appears to have disabled or broken unicode character support)...!! :cry:
