Hello,
An update for KDE was released recently for Kubuntu 8.04.1 (Hardy Heron), after applying the update I installed Wine, the installation goes fine, however, I noticed it doesn't create entries on the KMenu (you don't see the Wine Applications options and the Browse Local Drive and Applications) I also noticed Wine was also upgraded to 1.13, what I've mentioned, are those changes to Wine or there's a bug?, just curious.

Re: Wine 1.13 and KDE 3.5.10
Wine will not create menu entries for apps until you install them. Wine does not create menu entries for itself--if you had any before, they were added by your distro to its packages. If they're suddenly not working, ask your distro.NJ_Dude wrote:Hello,

Thanks for your reply, well, if that's the case then there's no problem, I can create those shotcuts myself, regarding not working applications, I noticed I had crash after the Wine install, things seem to be ok now.Wine will not create menu entries for apps until you install them. Thank you

You don't need windows to run wine on kubuntu!
Simply install wine from your package manager -> adept
You also should use the wine repository to have latest version (see download
page)...
Good luck!

-------------- next part --------------I am wanting to run Wine in conjunction with Kubuntu 8.04, but as I am a
newbie when it comes to Wine, (i haven't installed or used it yet), can you
tell me what files i need to download and install, and whether i install
them in Kubuntu or XP, or both?
Cheers
John
