I have Arabic programs and they are my best programs

one of them is Ela-Salaty

and when run it get bad font and can not read anything of them

However ,
#1# How to add Arabic encodic to my wine ?
#2# How to make it to system try icon ? It work in background with system try icon in task bar beside Time in Windows XP ?

Does it need to some Arabic fonts beside Arabic encodic ?

How to configurate wine ?

You need to install some Arabic fonts into ~/.wine/drive_c/windows/Fonts. Wine doesn't have any.
When running Wine make sure to specify correct locale. For example:

Code: Select all

LANG=ru_UA.utf-8 wine program.exe

Please note that Wine does not correctly support BiDi in all cases.

If you have access to a Windows computer then copy the Windows font
Tahoma to your wine installation. Tahoma's Arabic glyphs look very
good in Linux. However, you must take the Tahoma from a Windows
computer that thad Arabic installed to get the Arabic glyphs. I use
Tahoma's Hebrew glyphs in the same way.

but I still with my problem

I try to know what is default font does my program use ?

I believe that the program will use what is available to it. What
program are you using? Are you referring to the UI font, or to the
content font?

I get that from rgedit , and it's Times New Roman

I searched at wine fonts in rgedit for Times New Roman and i didn't find it.
I have it from my default fonts from Windows
I made these steps to add new font to my rgedit

I included it under default folder of wine's fonts
added new string value
renamed it to Times new Roman
add to it's path to the font's file

but when close my rgedit i lost all my work and didn't saved
I don't know why wine's rgedit don't accept a new string value
I think if i added it to wine's fonts i will get my program good with Arabic

If I understand correctly, you had renamed a font to Times New Roman,
hoping to replace Times New Roman with that font? I do not think that
this is recommended, I hope someone more knowledgeable can help.

Also, you may want to look at this bug regarding BiDi problems in Wine:

Wine really needs more BiDi developers, as the only semi-active one is
Shahar Shemesh, and it has been a while since anything has been done.
