Which version of wine

I've just tried to download Wine to my EEE PC but the versions it lists seem to be for different distros. I haven't changed from the default one. Does anyone know which is the correct one to use?

Those instructions completely messed up my EEE. When I tried to use winecfg it brought up thousands of windows quicker than I could close and didn't stop opening new ones. I had to press the reset button. Then it wouldn't give me access to file manager. After shutting down a second time, the EEE wouldn't load at all. It would go into a continuously loop without getting past a certain point. I've had to reinstall my OS, loose all my files and I'm generally a bit cross (not with any particular person) but with the instructions.
