no games

ok i've waited a day with steam running and i've stoped and started steam
many times and my games still don't show up in the "my games" tab. The same
message still appears when i try to repurchase my games saying that the
software i want to purchase is not offered in my area. could it be that
steam is misreporting my location the the servers?

im using ubuntu 8.04 and wine 1.0

sorry but i can't, if i try to launch steam from the console i get this
mesage

Hi.

Did you try to cd to the steam directory first?

I use a batch script to launch CSS with Steam instantly so it should work

Well, usually my stea does allot of connections, like:

And I think that's what steam uses to check games, so if you aren't getting any more of those maybe something is wrong...

Maybe you could link us to a pastebin with a full steam report including games tab and stuff.

Also, try something like:
steam --applaunch xxx

where xxx is your app (for CSS is 240) to try and see if it works (doubt it)

Steam needs some time to initialize the games, try to restart steam, open the games tab and wait some time.

After upgrading to 1.1.2 my games in steam also disappeared and after a steam restart and a few minutes of waiting, they reappeared.

could some1 with a working steam post their console out put because i want

to compare a working output to mine, as i have a very weird network setup.
I'm quite sure i opened all the necessary ports but I just want to check for
differences again TIA
