fatal error

ok i'v installed steam and it runs the first time, but when i exit steam and
start it again in comes up with this

Fatal Error: Could not load module 'bin/vgui2.dll'

i'm using ubuntu 8.04 and wine 1.1

Remove ~/.wine directory and reinstall Steam. Also use the Wine created link to run steam.
