Hi all,
Try to download the latest binary as said here :
https://www.winehq.org/download
but selecting the stable binary brings me back to a source download.
https://www.winehq.org/announce/1.8.4
What is it I am missing and where can I download the binary?
Edmund
No binary download to be found?
Re: No binary download to be found?
WineHQ doesn't package the stable branch. Your distro might; check with them.
Re: No binary download to be found?
Unfortunately they don't ( Mint 18 ) but I read here somewhere ( can't even find it anymore ) that previous wine releases are worked on and that the binaries could be found soon at the usual places ... That goes back to early 2015 but still no such binary in the downloads.dimesio wrote:WineHQ doesn't package the stable branch. Your distro might; check with them.
I am puzzled

I think you mean
You can use the WineHQ development or staging packages. https://wiki.winehq.org/Ubuntu
That's a standard line that appears in every announcement for every new release. It doesn't mean old packages are still available for download even if they were built, and as I already told you, WineHQ does not build packages for the stable branch. Packaging stable releases is something the distros are expected to do.Binary packages are in the process of being built, and will appear soon at their respective download locations.
