1.8.1 install merrygoround

Post by vector »

Hi,
The 1.8.1 binary (or any stable) install for Ubuntu seems to be missing

The merrygoround of installing 1.8..
Home page https://www.winehq.org/ Latest releases Stable 1.8.1, clicking on takes you to
https://www.winehq.org/download
Wine binary packages 1.8.1, clicking on takes you to
https://www.winehq.org/announce/1.8.1
text there
Binary packages for various distributions will be available from:

http://www.winehq.org/download
Which takes me back to where I was?

I have not tried the source package links. I'd prefer a binary install

WineHQ doesn't package the stable releases. Use the development or staging package. https://wiki.winehq.org/Ubuntu
