Condemned to not use flash?

Post by CM16 »

Hello. I am trying to play a game that for some reason has to play some SWF files at some point...
It quits instantly after being unable to find the file "flash.ocx"

I tried the following:
- Get flash.ocx, copy to .wine/drive_c/windows/system32, and run regsvr32, but no matter what, it always insists with this error:
Failed to load DLL flash.ocx

- Using "winetricks flash". But it throws a 404 error.

What else can I do? =/

Try upgrading winetricks. Get latest version from https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Winet ... winetricks.

Simple!! Just install the Windows version of flash. Get it here from Adobe ...

Select: Windows 7/Vista/XP
Install both the Chrome & Firefox versions (but not the ActiveX IE version!!)

Probably best to use a 32-bit Wineprefix...

If this doesn't work then try one of the older Adobe releases... See Archived Flash Versions here ...
