today i reinstalled debian jessie AMD64, then i installed the nvidia driver (version 340.96) from the debian repositories.
after that i installed winehq-devel (version 1.9.5) from the wine repository.
then i installed steam in the default 64 bit wineprefix. after this i installed Star Trek Online via steam.
when i try to run the game i get the error 'cannot initialize direct3d'
Steam installs Directx during installation.
according to winetricks list-installed this is what i have installed: d3dcompiler_43 d3dx10 d3dx11_43 d3dx9_26 d3dx9_28 d3dx9_31 d3dx9_35 d3dx9_36 d3dx9_39 d3dx9_42 d3dx9_43 d3dx9 directx9 xact_jun2010 xact xinput
in my previous installation of debian jessie i followed the same steps and star trek online worked back then.
does anyone know what might be wrong/ have further diagnostic steps?
