lost / hidden or deleted! files after wine installation?

Hi everyone,

After wine installation all desktop folders/files started to get disappared! there is no information about all these files. I used disk recovery software it seemed to be deleted, recovery software could not get any information about these lost files. There were some important files which are not backed up, unfortunately. please help!

i using mac os 10.6.8, installed x11/xquartz during wine installation..

Simply installing Wine shouldn't do that. Did you install anything in Wine? Windows malware can run in Wine.

I only installed Wine and x11 quartz update, thanks for your answer.
Has someone has got any idea about these lost folders.. Thanks
