CSMT Tab missing in 1.9.3 Staging

Post by mglinux »

Installed 1.9.3-Staging x64 and there is no tab for the csmt activation. In 1.9.2 it's availabe. CSMT seems not integrated by default, performance is much lower.

Was the tab forgotten?

The wine-staging changelog for 1.9.3 doesn't mention removing it. http://www.wine-staging.com/news/2016-0 ... 1.9.3.html

If you're using a WineHQ package, file a bug. If you're using someone else's package, ask them about it.

What the output from:

Code: Select all

wine --version
My output is:

Code: Select all

wine-1.9.3-86-g11be16c (Staging)
The Staging tab with CSMT is available in the winecfg GUI. Perhaps your package was not compiled with the CSMT Staging patchset?

Wine --version says 1.9.3 staging. Running winecfg in console gives me the Option for CSMT. But in POL 1.9.3 staging it is missing. Didn't do anything other than before. 1.9.1 or 1.9.2 staging are "normal" only 1.9.3 it's missing through POL winecfg. Did not use any other or special PPA

POL is not supported here. Complain to them.

I'm not complaining about wine itself. It was working several versions before and now it is different. The version I did download is official so I thought something is bugged or only missing. This kind of answers are .... so please reply nothing instead of this, thx!

Something got lost in translation there. 8)

I'd back dimesio's response up and refer you to the Wine FAQ ...
- which is clear on the matter of 3rd party wrappers (and the undocumented patches these wrappers apply to Wine)!

Personally speaking I've got the same kind of headache on the WineHQ AppDB side of things - people don't bother reading the Wiki guides I patiently / voluntarily maintain... It's incredibly frustrating! :? :(
