I wanted to let the Wine makers know that, all the Wine versions, with CSMT, from Wine 1.7.22 till 1.9.2 have graphic glitches in World of Tanks.
There is how ever one single Wine version that doesn't have the glitches and that is version 1.7.4-CSMT (from Play On Linux),
sadly for me how ever Wine 1.7.4-CSMT crashes when the game opens with a pop-up, my solution is to pick a random higher wine version, and then restart the game with 1.7.4-CSMT after the pop-up is gone (or that’s how it looks superficially, maybe it's something else i don't see that brakes 1.7.4-CSMT on first start of the day)
These are Wine builds used in PoL, I wonder what is different about Wine 1.7.4-CSMT, that makes that Wine version run properly in WoT.
I have noticed though that there are also some glitches in Wine 1.7.4-CSMT, but only on objects very far away where textures seem to be missing (which i only noticed on one map by accident as it's isn't showing up normaly), could it be that some how due to textures missing , the render bugs apparent in other versions, do not appear, and that the bugs in other versions are due to overwriting the same objects with multiple textures doubling up ?
World of Tanks graphic glitches
Re: World of Tanks graphic glitches
PoL is not supported here, and the CSMT patches are not part of the development branch. They are part of wine-staging, so you can file bugs for problems with plain wine-staging 1.9.2 (no PoL) in our bugzilla. However, I believe the random crashes with CSMT enabled are already a well-known issue, and that is why CSMT is not enabled by default in wine-staging.
