I'm trying to install a program from an ISO (I don't want to burn a CD...).
I have mounted the ISO (mount -o loop...) and I can see its contents in Nautilus (my file browser) and in the Wine Explorer so I seem to have adequate permissions. I can also open files on the ISO with Wordpad in Wine.
I can start the installer, but then it asks to insert the CD with the label 'Program Name'... I have checked the ISO and it DOES have the correct label. I have also extracted the ISO and tried adding the folder as a drive in Wine, but that didn't work - the installer simply wouldn't run at all...
I have also set the device type to Autodetect in Winecfg and then set the label myself, but that didn't fix the problem.
I have tried installing winiso and a couple of other ISO mounters in Wine, but they don't seem to wok (fail to install)...
Any help would be greatly appreciated...
Thanks in advance,
Can't install from ISO
Re: Can't install from ISO
Mounting an ISO will not work if the installer expects to interact with real hardware. For that you need an emulator, such as CDEmu. Or you could just burn a CD.
