Alternative PPA's to Scott Richies?

Post by masternetra »

Apparently Wine hasn't been updated in the Ubuntu (scott richie's) ppa sense before August, anyone know if there is a alternative PPA for Ubuntu? The 15.10 part of the ppa doesn't work, dependency is messed up and the verison of wine in it is uninstallable.

The plan is to eventually have WineHQ build official packages, but I don't know how long that will take to get up and running. In the mean time, try wine-staging. It's now an official branch of Wine, and I believe they are already building Ubuntu packages.

Seems to being working fine thus far (wine-staging), though would recommend having winetricks installed if you want a graphical end to handle wine, wine and wineconfig does not show up, even after relogging in the launcher anywhere. However can run wineconfig and such through winetricks just fine.
