I just asked a question, complete with an error log, while using Wine 1.7. It was disapproved because "Third party Wine wrappers are not supported here. This forum is for plain Wine only".
What? Is there a Wine alternative than that actually works and has a support forum so I can do my schoolwork? Because Wine isn't working and apparently I'm not allowed to seek out help for it.
What is plain Wine?

I didn't download any of those. I downloaded from Wine. The app is a wine glass called Wine and it's version 1.7.0 I believe. Why wasn't a question about that allowed?
Re: What is plain Wine?
If it's the post I'm thinking of, you said you downloaded an .app file. If that is what you did, then it is not plain Wine, as WineHQ does not package binaries for Mac OSX. On a Mac, Wine has to be built from source, and its usage is all command line.
If I am mistaken about that, and you did build Wine from source, then the first thing you need to do is build current Wine, as 1.7.0 is over two years old.

Re: What is plain Wine?
Ok. So I "installed" Wine now. My Terminal window even says:
wine-1.6.2_1 already installed
But when I go to install my program, I get:
-bash: /Applications/Wine.app/Contents/Resources/bin/wine: No such file or directory
??? I didn't install the other version of Wine on this harddrive . . .
