LinuxMint 15 - First StartUp Wizard- Console Application Settings
Binary Path: ?
Arguments: ?
When installing the first windows program with Wine into Linux Mint 15 the First StartUp Wizard requires the Console Path for the emulator used by Linux Mint 15 Cinnamon to continue with the General Configuration of Wine before the installation of the required Windows program.
Step 5 of 8
Please advise as to where to identify the exact/ correct path for the Cinnamon Console Binary Path and Arguments.
This is required to run the RegEdit in the windows directory of the Wine C:\ folder to set the OpenGL entries to correct a n issue with installing and running Sketchup8
I have tried /usr/bin/cinnamon for cinnamon version 1.8, is this correct and is there a different solution for the newer cinnamon 2.0 released October 10th 2013?
Thank You in advance - and please be as verbose as possible.

LinuxMint 15 - First StartUp Wizard- Console Application Set
Re: LinuxMint 15 - First StartUp Wizard- Console Application
Wine does not have any "First Startup Wizard," nor has anyone else reported encountering such a thing, and we have lots of Mint users. Assuming you have Wine installed, you should be able to run regedit just by typing regedit in a terminal.
From what you describe, your problem is with Cinnamon, not Wine. Ask for help on the Linux Mint forum.

Please forgive for saying so, but "What a condescending answer." Is the person who asked dreaming that problem up? No, they are not.dimesio wrote:Wine does not have any "First Startup Wizard," nor has anyone else reported encountering such a thing, and we have lots of Mint users. Specifically, the problem is with Q4Wine. I'm having the same problem and would be really grateful for a working answer.

Third party wrappers are not supported here.Randymanme wrote: Specifically, the problem is with Q4Wine. I'm having the same problem and would be really grateful for a working answer.

Well, yes, we can infer that from your first response; but you being a WineHQ moderator, I assume you can probably answer that question off the top of your head or more easily find out than us noobs.dimesio wrote:Third party wrappers are not supported here.Randymanme wrote: Specifically, the problem is with Q4Wine. <SOLVED> LinuxMint 15 - First StartUp Wizard Console Applica
Ralf Mardorf, at http://osdir.com/ml/debian-user-debian/ ... 01601.html, advised:
Console application settings:
Binary: ?
Arguments: ?
For the bin I added "/usr/bin/gnome-terminal" and nothing for the
arguments.
...........................................................................................................................................................................
In my case, since I'm running Linux Mint 17.2 / Mate, gnome terminal was not installed, so after I installed it with synaptic package manager, that console binary path worked.

Re: LinuxMint 15 - First StartUp Wizard- Console Application
Well, no, because as I said in my original response, plain Wine does not have a "First Startup Wizard," and I have never had to specify any "Console Application Settings" in 8 years of using it. Those questions are specific to Q4Wine, and you need someone familiar with that app to help with it. You won't find that someone here, and IMO, suggesting a forum where users might find an answer is better than ignoring the question altogether.Randymanme wrote: Well, yes, we can infer that from your first response; but you being a WineHQ moderator, I assume you can probably answer that question off the top of your head or more easily find out than us noobs.
