MSWord 2007 suddenly stopped working!

Hello,

I use AbiWord for my regular personal use, but I require real MSWord2007 occasionally for work, so installed it and have had it working fine fine for some time now, but yesterday it suddenly just stopped. Can't open the program at all. When I try it pops me up with two errors. they both say Microsoft C++ Visual Runtime Library - R6034 - An application has made an attempt to load the c runtime library incorrectly.

I'm running wine 0.9.59 on Ubuntu (Hardy). Any and all help appreciated

You say it worked before--what changed on your system since the last time you used it?

Nothing as far as I know, that's why I'm so puzzled... The only thing that I might have added is VLC media - I can't remember whether I added that before or after last time I used Word.

Windows or Linux? VLC for Linux shoudn't make a difference, but anything you install into the same wineprefix has the potential to mess up already installed programs.

Try reinstalling Office 2007 to a clean wineprefix.

You should also upgrade Wine at some point, as 0.9.59 is pretty old, but wait until the next release. There was a regression in 1.1.1 that prevents installation of native msxml3, which is needed to install Office 2007.

I installed Word from a genuine disc copy, so will I be able to reinstall from the same disc without it costing me an extra liscense?
