Recently i tried to install age of conan and dungeon fighter games....
As i didn't have space in my home or c: folder. I installed it in a different drive (K:) with 200 gb worth free space after installation games require updates to install so while downloading updates it started showing low space and an error message came that it requires 5gb space... I figured out that it was installed in K: drive but somehow updates are being installed in C: drive which has only 500 mb space
any ideas how to correct this

Put the whole wineprefix on the drive with enough space. http://wiki.winehq.org/FAQ#wineprefix

but then do i have to reinstall all the other applications installed

No. You can keep ~/.wine for all your other apps and just install your game to the other wineprefix.
