[SOLVED] Fedora 9 32-bit WARNING: No OpenGL library found
Hi,
I have checked and I have all recommended packages for Fedora (I'm running Fedora 9 32-bit).
When I download Wine 1.1.1 and attempt to configure from source I get the following output (grepping for gl to isolate opengl errors)
$ ./configure -verbose | grep -i gl

Yet if I install Wine using Yum I get full OpenGL support ?
The problem I have is Wine from Yum is only version:
wine-1.0-1.fc9.i386

You're probably missing a development package. http://wiki.winehq.org/Recommended_Packageseurodrew555 wrote: Any idea as to why it can't find the libraries when installing from source ?

I've followed the Fedora guide on that page by installing:
yum install (as per below)
bison
flex
prelink
alsa-lib-devel
cups-devel
dbus-devel
esound-devel
fontconfig-devel
freetype-devel
giflib-devel
hal-devel
isdn4k-utils-devel
lcms-devel
libICE-devel
libjpeg-devel
libpng-devel
libSM-devel
libusb-devel
libX11-devel
libXau-devel
libXcomposite-devel
libXcursor-devel
libXext-devel
libXi-devel
libXinerama-devel
libxml2-devel
libXrandr-devel
libXrender-devel
libxslt-devel
libXt-devel
libXv-devel
libXxf86vm-devel
mesa-libGL-devel
ncurses-devel
openldap-devel
openssl-devel
pkgconfig
sane-backends-devel
xorg-x11-proto-devel
It still fails with exactly the same error (WARNING: No OpenGL library found), yet if I do 'yum install wine' I get full OpenGL support.

Did you messed with LDFLAGS or anything like that? I don't have any "-dylib_file" here. Looks like a conf or system problem.eurodrew555 wrote:configuregcc -o conftest -g -O2 conftest.c -lGL -lXext -lX11 -lm -dylib_file /System/Library/Frameworks/OpenGL.framework/Versions/A/Libraries/libGL.dylib:/System/Library/Frameworks/OpenGL.framework/Versions/A/Libraries/libGL.dylib >&5
Well, you're under Fedora right ? I don't know dylib but after few researches, it seems to be Mac OS X related. So, my question : why have you this flag ???????
Can you copy & paste the beginning of the "core tests" section from "config.log" ? I would like to verify eveything is ok with your system configuration detection.
For example, on my laptop, I have :

Yes I'm running Fedora 9 on both systems, and they both have exactly the same issue.

I have removed the nvidia drivers (yum remove kmod-ndivida) and also removed mesa-libGL* (yum remove mesa-libGL*) which removed a lot of libraries and quite a few apps.
I have reinstalled kmod-nvidia and all the recommended dependencies from Wine HQ (for Fedora) and the same problem still exists.

I'm due to do a rebuild on my laptop as I want to enable encryption so I'll see if that resolves the problem, otherwise I suppose I'll just continue to use Wine using the RPMs as OpenGL does work OK that way.
Thanks for all your suggestions.

I think you have a bad symlink, because glxgears is link with libGL.so.1 located in the /usr/lib/nvidia folder but "/usr/lib/libGL.so.1" is a symlink to libGL.so.173.08
can you try the following command :
ln -sf nvidia/libGL.so.1 /usr/lib/libGL.so.1
and try to run configure script.
If it doesn't work execute "ln -sf libGL.so.173.08 /usr/lib/libGL.so.1" to reverse the previous command.

OK I have rebuilt my laptop and wine-1.1.1 now builds with OpenGL support.
Thanks for all the advice, it does look like the config got messed up somehow:

[SOLVED] Fedora 9 32-bit WARNING: No OpenGL library found
After reviewing the sym links on my rebuilt Fedora 9 system, I was able to resolve this problem with the following:
cd /usr/lib
rm libGL.so.1
ln -s libGL.so.1.2 libGL.so.1
It was the symbolic link of libGL.so.1 that was the problem.
After correcting this Wine compiles with OpenGL - I have tested with Call of Duty 2 and it works great!
Cheers,
Andrew
