Multilanguage WineHQ & AppDB?

Post by granamachine »

I think it would be interesting to add multilanguage support to the entire site (spanish is my home language and only the front page appears translated).

For example, the entries and forms for test data in the AppDB could be displayed in the language of each user, so anyone else could understand. This would increase the user base of Wine, as many non-English speakers could understand the entries and even collaborate with the site.

Thank you

Wine's AppDB does not support multiple languages. However winehq does (the website). So all you need to do is to translate it to your language. You can find website souce here: http://source.winehq.org/git/website.git/

How would the English only speaking people read the non-english test results?

Using checkboxes in the "What works/What does not work/What was not tested" sections. With the following items:

- Installation
- Run
- Basic functions
- Advanced functions
- Everything (greyes out other options)

etc.

In games:

- Intro
- Menu
- FMV
- In-game
- Multiplayer

etc.

These checkboxes would be translated according to each user's language.

not tested" sections ...
And/or by using Google translate.

Yes, it's another option.
