Why can't Wine do 256 colors?
I'm not trying to complain here--honestly. I've just been wondering why Wine cannot do 256 color apps. I know it is possible, as DOSBox seems to have no trouble. Is there just some bug somewhere, or has it just not been implemented yet?

You have to add 8bit mode to your xorg configuration but most drivers doesn't support this. You will have to use one of the workaround or you are lucky and your system can go back to 256 colors mode just change the configuration.
