I hazard to submit, more people are turning to opensource as XP becomes
obsolete.

Perhaps it is time to dust off the 101 material and get it ready to cut and
paste in...

There is more to being obsolete to drive people out of Windows to Linux/Mac.

Just think of all the conscious step one has as an newbie (without system administrator) to do just to have everything working properly even before starting Wine (maybe less for Mac - but I will never be able to tell).

I submit that XP was obsolete in the 1980s given what the unix world had then.

Bad idea. You can give a man a fish, but that's just going to give you
another mouth to spoonfeed. Better idea: Direct them to the documentation,
make 'em go learn to fish for themselves.

Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach him how to fish, and he will sit in a boat and drink beer all day.

Give a man a fire, and he will be warm for the rest of the day. Set him on
fire, and he will be warm for the rest of his life.

What did happen of "Teach him to fish and he will fish for himself for the rest of his life"? Is it the new trend of giving up people before they will ever start. btw if you set him on fire, I bet he won't be warm for long or is going to burn the whole neighborhood.

I personally find it extremely discouraging that people aren't taking a
serious, legitimate suggestion seriously. You both need to grow up.
