Wine err:seh:raise_exception Unhandled exception - WoW.exe

Post by Wild-Wolf »

Hello there,

I'm getting the following error message when i try to start world of warcraft 3.0.9 with wine 1.1.15.

err:seh:raise_exception Unhandled exception code c0000005 flags 0 addr 0x60c36c46

after that nothing more is happening, no more messages, no more information in the console and the wine'd wow.exe process is eating up my cpu's and thats all.

Im running Fedora 10 x64 (uname: Linux wolfbox 2.6.27.19-170.2.35.fc10.x86_64), nvidia drivers 180.29.

System Specs:

Intel I7 920 @ 2,81Ghz
Intel DX58SO Board - X58 Chipset
6GB OCZ Intel XMP Edition Tripple Channel DDR3 Memory
XFX GeForce 285 GTX

installer works, launcher works, when you click play all windows disappear and i get the error message mentioned above.

any ideas?

On my laptop (Intel C2D T6400, nvidia 9600M GS & 4GB DDR3), WoW and my steam games works very well, no error.

For WoW, I had this one time, when I wanted to play a standalone WoW. I installed it from my Linux (Arch Linux x86_64), and works well.

My Steam games are : Counter Strike, Counter Strike : Source, Condition Zero.

I was getting the same error.

Re-installed graphics drivers and that solved the issue.

(I use the newest from nvidia's site instead of Ubuntu's Hardware Drivers app)

Distro: Xubuntu 9.10 x86_64
Kernel: 2.6.31-20
CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 2.83GHz
Graphics Card: nVidia GeForce GTX 285
Graphics Driver: nVidia 195.36.08
Wine Version: 1.1.40
