Re: WineHQ download server page is down
The repositories were moved to an AWS server last week, and can no longer be browsed. https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=58154
Re: WineHQ download server page is down
Now that we can no more browse through several Wine repositories in order to download a specific binary Wine version, how can we still download a specific binary Wine version on the fly for use in a Wine frontend such as PlaOnLinux, Lutris, Bottles, etc.? For example I'd like to download Wine 9.0.1 for using it in PlayOnLinux, this version was released at April 16, 2025.
Re: WineHQ download server page is down
If you can figure out the full download URL for each file, that will work. https://wayback-api.archive.org/save is helpful in doing this.
Re: WineHQ download server page is down
I've rebuilt the index files for the download server. So you can browse the folders again.
Re: WineHQ download server page is down
Thanks for rebuilding these index files. But I can't still find the binary Wine build 9.0.1 files in the several subdirectories of https://dl.winehq.org/wine-builds. The Wine build 9.0.1 was released at April 16, 2025 according to https://gitlab.winehq.org/wine/wine/-/r ... wine-9.0.1. Only the source is available now and do I have to wait until this specific binary Wine build has been compiled?
Re: WineHQ download server page is down
I haven't built 9.0.1 packages and have no plans to do so. The current stable release is 10.0, and there are packages for that.
Re: WineHQ download server page is down
Wine development release 10.7 was released at May 2, 2025. But at https://dl.winehq.org/wine-builds/ and inside its subdirectories I still don't see any binary Wine build of this latest release. Does this mean that either these binaries of Wine 10.7 will have to be compiled yet, or that the index files of the download server itself have to be updated?
Re: WineHQ download server page is down
The index files need to be updated.
Re: WineHQ download server page is down
Why haven't these index files been updated yet since Wine development release 10.7 was released, is it caused by AWS server itself?
At https://github.com/Kron4ek/Wine-Builds/ ... s/tag/10.7 "Wine 10.7" you can indeed find the binaries of Wine development release 10.7. But I don't know whether these binaries have been compiled by Kron4ek.
Re: WineHQ download server page is down
The AWS server doesn't show directory listings; the directory pages now have to be generated for the website by a script, which is still being worked on. The 10.7 packages are there, so you should be able to download them through a browser by using a direct link to the package(s) you want.
Re: WineHQ download server page is down
Using a direct link by substituting 10.6 by 10.7 within these package file names. By using the command wget in the Linux terminal I can fetch these binaries onto my local PC.dimesio wrote: ↑Tue May 06, 2025 6:12 am The AWS server doesn't show directory listings; the directory pages now have to be generated for the website by a script, which is still being worked on. For example:
Code: Select all
https://dl.winehq.org/wine-builds/ubuntu/dists/noble/main/binary-i386/wine-devel-dbg_10.6~noble-1_i386.deb
changing to
Code: Select all
https://dl.winehq.org/wine-builds/ubuntu/dists/noble/main/binary-i386/wine-devel-dbg_10.7~noble-1_i386.deb
Re: WineHQ download server page is down
We now have a script to generate the index files. I put it a merge request today for it.
https://gitlab.winehq.org/winehq/tools/ ... equests/75
Alexandre will start using this script to generate the indexes after builds soon. If something gets missed or goes awry, I can also manually run it at any time.

Re: WineHQ download server page is down
When I look at https://dl.winehq.org/wine-builds/ubunt ... nary-i386/, I don't see any binary packages in .deb file format available for downloading anymore. I only see this:
To download any .deb binary packages, go to https://dl.winehq.org/wine-builds/ubunt ... in/w/wine/.
Code: Select all
Downloads: /wine-builds/ubuntu/dists/noble/main/binary-i386/
