I've made a topic on this before, but it's been a while and after a fresh install on an NVMe, I've encountered a strange font fallback issue.
I use foobar2000 and edit tags frequently for Japanese music in it. After the install, font rendering for Japanese characters no longer works. I suppose this is because the font fallback stack in the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\FontLink\SystemLink is not being followed. There is basically no info on font fallback issues in modern Wine versions so I have no idea what to do here.
For reference, I am using Wine Staging 10.0.4 ~noble-1.
Wine Font Fallback
Re: Wine Font Fallback
I got the same issue and it occurs with Column UI, Album list panel and OpenLyrics plugins. The non-english letters are shown as square boxes, both Japanese and Korean.
Especially when I try to set Column UI's Font, it shows "Error initialising fonts list: There was an error listing fonts using DirectWrite." and the "Font family" list is empty.
