winecfg will not work when i run it

i recently got wine installed and i tried to run winecfg but it could not start due to a a program wouldn't start

What version of Wine? If it's 8.11 or newer, it could be https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=55139. The solution there is to disable stack protection when building Wine.
