MX Linux is based on Debian.
To find your Debian name run:

Code: Select all

cat /etc/os-release
Remove the Ubuntu Lunar repo:

Code: Select all

sudo rm /etc/apt/sources.list.d/winehq-lunar.sources
And download the Debian repository .sources file that matches your system.

PRETTY_NAME="Debian GNU/Linux 9 (stretch)"
NAME="Debian GNU/Linux"
VERSION_ID="9"
VERSION="9 (stretch)"
VERSION_CODENAME=stretch
ID=debian
HOME_URL="https://www.debian.org/"
SUPPORT_URL="https://www.debian.org/support"
BUG_REPORT_URL="https://bugs.debian.org/"

So I'm trying to upgrade from Debian 9 (stretch) to Debian (Bullseye) but because I'm a newbie I don't understand what command or commands I need to grab download upgrade and install can you please help me with the commands?

I'm at this website and I'm not sure what commands its asking me to use to update

https://atetux.com/how-to-upgrade-debia ... 1-bullseye

Update the repository to Debian 11 (bullyes), replace /etc/apt/sources.list with

deb http://deb.debian.org/debian bullseye main contrib non-free
deb http://deb.debian.org/debian bullseye-updates main contrib non-free
deb http://security.debian.org/debian-security bullseye-security main contrib non-free

hundreds of them

I tried installing the latest ubuntu on live usb on my other laptop and it gives me after i successfully installed it the GRUB error: shim_lock protocol not found. error: you need to load the kernel first. Press any key to continue... both of my laptops are older laptops ASUS F555L and ASUS S56C

Should I just put the Newest MXLinux Debian or another Linux OS reinstalled on my LiveUSB stick and just nuke and reinstall the latest Debian OS on one of my laptops just to get around all of this headache and then go and use the terminal to get wine? Ive been fightin with this for days and Im not a computer scientist so its confusing and painful trying to go through all of these terminal codes tutorials trying to get these OS installed or trying to update and Get wine installed on this laptop.

The repositories you are getting 404 errors for have nothing to do with Wine, and how to upgrade your OS is not a Wine question. Ask for help on with that on the MX forum.
