Wine 8.x don't print on cups-PDF printer (Linux Mint)

Hello everyone,

After upgrade my windows program running in wine 8.x don't print on linux PDF (cups) printer.
I printed at this way many years - 2014 to this year.
Checked on linux Mint 20.3, Wine 8.0, Wine 8.2, different machines (3).

What changed?

I have the same issue with winehq 8.x. when I try to print to cups-pdf printer. I've tested it on Ubuntu Server 20.04, cups version is 2.3.1.
If I downgrade to the usual version 6.8 that I use, the issue disappeared.

I have tested wine-8.3 (Staging) and can confirm that it is ok now.


EDIT:

Hmm, it's very strange. If I upgrade from 6.8 the printing via cups-PDF is OK but if I delete the .wine folder and initialize it the printing stops again. There are some differences in the registry, so I will try comparing them.

bug with printing was resolved in bug https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=54379 , released in wine 8.3, if you still experince issues please comment there

I've got still problems with printing on some applications. SumatraPDF throws an error on CUPS by printing a PDF-file.
Log shows:

0160:fixme:winspool:EndPagePrinter (00000001): stub
0124:err:sync:RtlLeaveCriticalSection section 00CFCB34 (null) is not acquired
0124:err:sync:RtlLeaveCriticalSection section 00CFCB4C (null) is not acquired

At CUPS-queue, job is a complete PDF (which could be saved) - but an error is shown.
Same print-job on a real printer does "nothing" - but shows an error, too.

Any ideas to debug?

Notepad and even SumatraPDF prints fine, if it's not a shown PDF.

I'm on Wine 8.8

Wine 8.10 fixes my issue. Sumatra prints fine, now.
