German dictionary installation

Post by vanlei »

hello,

i'm trying to install a German dictionary (Langenscheidt e-Größwörterbuch 2008 - CD Rom 5.0) on Ubuntu 14.04 through Wine 1.7.44. Here's what happens:

1) i click on eGWDaF>Setup.exe>open with Wine (see 1st png in attachment) appears to go through all right, though when I open the dictionary, no word database is there;

2) i then click on eGWDaF>Setup>eW_lkg.exe>open with Wine (see 2nd png in attachment) - i have this feeling that the word database is in there (i wouldn't know where else it could be) - and first "no database can be opened" appears and then "the program eW_lkg.exe has encountered a serious problem (...).

the program error detail log can be found at http://backtrace.vanlei.mm.st (sorry I can't attach a txt file for some reason).

could you please help? many thanks!

Try a 32 bit wineprefix. If that doesn't work, run it from a terminal and post the full output. FYI, you can attach plain text files here without a .txt extension.
