The Sims 3 crashes. Need help understanding terminal output.

Hello!

First of all: English is not my mother tongue, so please excuse any mistakes.

I have problem with running the Sims 3 game since I upgraded (in terminal) from Linux Mint 16 to 17. Before the upgrade, everything worked just fine, now it behaves as follows:
When I run the game, it works fine. It loads to my current saved game and I can play for 1-3 minutes. Then it crashes, which means that I hear music, but can't do anything and I received a program error that TS3W.exe doesn't work. (Unfortunately I couldn't look into the details, because they didn't load)
When I don't do anything and just let the game run, it doesn't crash (I tried this for five minutes or so).

I ran the game in terminal to see what causes the crash, but I don't understand anything of it

"getötet" means "killed". That's because I had to kill the game to get back to the terminal and stuff.

I would be so pleased if anyone could help me understand the output and/or has ideas for what I could do to fix the sudden error!

holschwein, I'd start with re-installing wine and using winetricks to make sure you have at least dotnet20 installed, since the sims3 launcher requires that. I'm a little confused by some of the terminal output, for instance, mention of the "SupraSavingService"? This may seem a little weird, but it almost seems as though you have managed to install some kind of windows virus. Which is actually behaving as you'd expect under windows.

I'd therefore consider replacing your entire .wine folder as a last resort, because some of that terminal output is quite strange. I've had some issues with upgrading my linux distro before, but that stuff is new to me. You're sure nothing else happened before upgrading Mint?
You could also try running the TS3W.exe directly, without the launcher.f

P.s, a quick google seems to indicate that SupraSavingsService is some kind of virus/malware.

Laura,you need to make a clean wineprefix+try to install with Winetricks:

First of all, @ZombieRedShirt, the virus theory with SupraServing stuff is quite good. Before I upgraded my distro, I made a backup and looked through all the folders to delete unnecessary stuff. In wine I had a folder named SupraSavings, and because I couldn't remember to have installed anything like that, I deleted it. Maybe this was when Sims decided it can't work without it ... I don't know. My other programs in this wineprefix worked, however.

I renamed the old .wine-folder so that a new one was created, is that okay for creating the new wineprefix, or do I have to do something else or reinstall wine completely?

I'd really like to report whether it works now, but unfortunately I don't have my installation CD of Sims with me at the moment, so I can't try it out. Copying of the Sims folder from the old .wine-folder didn't work. I'll write again in a few days, when my installation CD was sent to me and I've been able to try it out.

Still, thanks a lot for your input!

Yes, I will do that, but as I said, I'll have to wait some time before I can install Sims again, because I'm home with my parents and don't have my installation CD here. So I'll post the output next week someday.
