Help with Ford Service Publications
Hi.New to this. With Xp going out of support didn't want to have to buy new machine for shop. Put Mint ver 16 on and Wine 1.4.1. Problem I am having is with loading Ford service publications. this is an old app used byFord until about 2002. I believe it is an old 16 bit app but it ran well under XP. I run install under Wine and it goes through the normal setup screen but does it really fast. then it says it was succesfull and ends. If I check it has created a file called Ford and a sub-file called pubs. But there is no data in the files. and when you try to configure the app it cannot find an executable. Any help would be appreciated.
Re: Help with Ford Service Publications
Start by upgrading Wine; your version is old and no longer supported. If your OS is 64 bit, also make sure you install the app to a 32 bit wineprefix. http://wiki.winehq.org/FAQ#32_bit_wineprefix

wine version 1.6.1 installed same results creates foldes no files in them
Re: Help with Ford Service Publications
The current development release is 1.7.17; please test that. When testing, do it in a clean wineprefix (delete the old one). If the problem persists, post terminal output. http://wiki.winehq.org/FAQ#get_log

Re: Help with Ford Service Publications
Cool got it to run the install.exe and it created log.txt Log.txt has nothing in it. 0 bytes. The cd contains 156 items for 419 Mb. Under windows xp the startup short cut target is info1.ini with dealer_env as an input parm.
I really appreciate all of you folks help.

Anybody have any ideas on making this work. Willing to copy cd and send it to some one if that would help.
Re: Help with Ford Service Publications
There is a very old bug for the Ford Service Manual Viewer, http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=16592. Take a look at it, and if it seems to be the same problem, add your info to it. Otherwise, file a new bug for your problem.

Thanks for all the help. I added the info to that bug. Somewhat the same. Somewhat not. I hope some one sees it it is very old.
