Sim City 3000 fails to start - No CDROM inserted

Hello,

whenever I try to start Sim City 3000 (not unlimited), a error message pops up telling me to insert the CDROM in my disk drive, but I already have it inserted. I tried to configure a drive in winecfg just like some threads here tell me to, but that lead to the same result.

What am I doing wrong?

Some Disc copy protection schemes will just not work. Sometimes the latest upgraded version of older games will remove copy protection. Barring that, sometimes you can find no-cd hacks for games to remove the disc check.
