Banktree from www.banktree.co.uk

Post by muffin »

Hello there!
I'm a newbee to linux and Wine, so I hope you appreciate that I'm on a learning curve here and may appear dumb.

I'm having trouble running a superb personal finance program using Wine. It is a Windows base program. It installs easily, and apparantly, trouble free, but... on launcing it it throws up an error box- Error occured ActiveX component can't create object.
It then tries to find a dat file. I assume this is a sample/new file for the software. It fails, and even if I import a data file produced under Windows it won't accept, throwing up the same activex error dialog box.

I feel that this application is almost there in Wine and so would appreciate any help in getting it over the final hurdle.

Thanks in advance

You didn't mention what Wine version you're using. If it's not the latest development release, upgrade. If it still doesn't work, post terminal output. http://wiki.winehq.org/FAQ#get_log
